Frequently asked questions

Wait, cannabis?

Throughout the many changes of an adult women’s life physical ,cognitive and emotional systems can be knocked out of sync by hormone fluctuations, stress and environmental factors. Memory systems, cognitive systems, sleep systems, temperature regulation, libido, sexual function, mood balance and many more of the cornerstones of well-being  are sitting ducks in the storm of life.

When your body’s systems are out of balance or not functioning properly, your body’s own cannabinoid system comes to the rescue. A biological call goes out for your cells to produce endocannabinoids, which are cannabinoids made by your body. Endocannabinoids connect with your cell’s receptors with the biological goal for your systems to return to equilibrium and properly function.

Cannabinoids from cannabis closely mimic your own and are thus able to utilize your receptors. Supplementing endocannabinoids with cannabis can restore balance back to your systems.

OK, but why a vaginal suppository?

Anything ingested by mouth goes through the digestive system and is metabolized by the liver before entering the bloodstream.  We are all familiar with the varying effects imbibed caffeine and alcohol can have on individuals.  The same is true for cannabis.  A THC edible can have a wide range of effects on different consumers as body weight, metabolism speed, stomach contents and other factors can vastly influence how cannabinoids, especially the psychoactive cannabinoid THC, take effect.

Unlike an edible, a vaginal suppository bypasses the digestive tract and liver and depends only on body temperature to melt at a specific rate to be absorbed by the surrounding skin.  The female reproductive tract is full of cannabinoid receptors to receive and interact with cannabinoids while the blood vessels in the skin absorb the cannabinoids and botanicals.

Oh, and as a bonus, the vaginal suppository contains cocoa butter, avocado oil and vitamin E to moisturize, soothe and lubricate while apple cider vinegar maintains the natural pH balance of your vagina.

THC, doesn’t that get you high?

Hello Again wants you to feel healthy, not high. We also know that cannabis is best able to deliver the desired effects when CBD, THC, and specific plant terpenes and components work together. The vaginal delivery system allows for THC to participate in this synergy most fully with the local cannabinoid receptors (there are lots in the skin, and female reproductive tract). A vaginal delivery system does result in some absorption into the blood stream through the blood vessels and capillaries of the female reproductive tract, but significantly less reaches the bloodstream compared to oral ingestion — which may explain why women experience benefits without the high. Hello Again was specifically formulated to help you feel healthy. We want you to be able to get on with the business of your day.

How often should I use Hello Again?

You can use Hello Again Everyday, well, everyday. Hello Again, Sleep can also be used nightly. Some women use our products every day and night. Others find that semi-regular use keeps their systems in balance. You’ll find your rhythm and what works for you. Patty and Carrie will use Hello Again Everyday when they know they have a demanding day and want to be their best. Patty uses Hello Again Sleep every night. Carrie uses it every third night or so. There is no one right way to strengthen your V Force.

Hello Again Period can be used any day of the month for as many days as necessary. If you using during your flow it is okay to use a tampon. The cocoa butter based suppository won’t be absorbed by the tampon. Leaving all that goodness just for you.

Hello Again Hangover is for post party relief. The one two punch is using one at the end of the night  and one when you wake up in the morning. Did you forget to take one at night? Don’t worry using a hangover suppository in the morning will make you feel like you did before happy hour.

Does it leak?

In short, every V is different. Shape, strength, and ability to absorb vary from woman to woman. Use a panty liner (or bit of folded TP) when you first try Hello Again to see how it works for you. Our formulation was targeted to guard against leakage yet allow for a fast enough melt rate for efficacy. The majority of women report no leakage, but for ultimate insurance or strenuous activity (cardio trampoline class?) try a tampon. Hot summer swelters are different from winter days. You get the idea.

How long does it take for Hello Again to take effect?

Hello Again suppositories melt within an hour and can take effect within 30 minutes.

Hello Again Sleep delivers a more pronounced effect.  Brush your teeth, wash your face, slip in a Hello Again, get settled in bed, read a few pages then lean into the relaxation you may feel radiating from your pelvis.  Let it wash over you as you relax, then sleep.

Hello Again Everyday is more subtle.  Insert one in the morning and forget about it.  At the end of the day, take stock of your day.  We find we’ve been more productive, more patient, enjoyed more sustained energy and been better spouses, mothers, and friends.

Hello Again Period was formulated for pain, anxiety and focus. Women report the type of pain relief that allows them to feel like themselves again and get on with their day, so you don’t have spend your day in a curled up ball or laying on a heating pad. Our period suppositories also help address the symptoms of PMS like mood, energy and focus.

Hello Again Hangover dramatically decreases the effects of last night’s drinks. Say goodbye to the headaches, fogginess and hang-xiety that often follow a big night out. Cheers to a new day!

How long do the effects last?

Hello Again delivers relief for about 6 hours. However, many women find that once their systems are brought back into balance, the effects can last much longer.  Patty and Carrie are great examples.  Patty uses Hello Again every day and every night.  Carrie finds that use ever other or every third day is enough to keep her systems balanced.

Where should I store my Hello Again?

Refrigeration shouldn’t be necessary unless you live in an area with extreme heat. If your vaginal suppository does melt, a pop in the fridge will return it to a solid state, but the shape may show wrinkles and look less polished. Don’t be alarmed. Your V won’t care.

How do I get the suppository out of the shell?

At the rounded tip of the suppository shell, the two sides are designed to be slightly unsealed for opening.  Take hold of each side and pull apart to peel the shell open like a banana.  Voila.  See our video here.

How do I put the vaginal suppository in?

With clean hands, and the bullet-shaped tip up, slide the suppository well into the vagina.  Sorry, no video.

My suppositories look spotty. Are they safe to use?

Our suppositories are made to be a polished pearly white.  However, cocoa butter is a mixture of fats with different melting points.  Because of that, it is natural to see those fats separate over time.  The appearance of spotty clusters of fat is a byproduct of temperature fluctuations during storage and does not affect the efficacy of the product.

How is Hello Again different from regulating my hormones?

Cannabis offers a different approach to finding balance. It is a natural, plant-based remedy for menopause and other wellness issues women face throughout their adult lives.

Hormone regulation is the goal of prescribed pharmaceutical hormones or Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).  This approach makes sense, however HRT is not without problems.  First, not everyone is a candidate (family histories of cancer or blood clots) or feels comfortable taking hormones.  Second, the hormone fluctuations during perimenopause (the running head start toward menopause that can last over 5 years) are severe and random.  So, ideal hormone balance is a constant moving target.

Instead of regulating hormone levels, the cannabinoids in cannabis meet your body’s cannabinoid receptors and thus strengthen your system’s ability to bounce back and function properly.  Cannabis provides reinforcements for your own endocannabinoid system in its quest to keep your body’s systems functioning despite the volatile surrounding condition.  In other words, instead of attempting to control the source of the problem, you can choose to strengthen your body’s resources.

Every woman and every body is different.  Choose the approach (or combination of the two) that works best for you.  Carrie uses Hello Again exclusively.  Patty takes hormones and uses our product.

Can I use Hello Again in combination with hormone replacement therapy?

Hello Again is used by women who continue to take HRT and by women who either do not or cannot take HRT.  For women who do, we like that Hello Again may allow for lower dosage by taking on the spillover symptoms that may not be fully addressed by HRT.

Will it make me smell like pot?

No, nope and never.  Hello Again has no hint of cannabis.  In fact, one of our product testers likened the smell to a spa.  It smells herbal, clean, fresh.

Why no applicator?

We made the choice not to add any more plastic into the world.  The only plastic in our packaging is the pharmaceutical grade, sterile suppository shells and the mandated child-proof pouch.  That’s more than we’d choose and we constantly have our eye out for alternatives.

Can I have sex after using Hello Again?

Absolutely!  Although we didn’t formulate Hello Again as a sex product, here is what we are finding:  when you get some sleep, aren’t a sweaty mess, have more patience and less anxiety, feel good about your performance all day, and don’t have a dry, sore vagina, libido is enhanced!  For more information about sex and cannabis as well as sex and Hello Again, check out our blog.

Will it get my partner high?

Hello Again doesn’t deliver the exact the same experience for people with vaginas and people with penises.  THC, however, is a vasodilator, increasing blood flow; especially where it comes in contact.  You are welcome.

What about taste?

Taste is a matter of, well, taste, but we have received no complaints.  See our list of ingredients here.

Why does the price vary so much from city to city?

Two reasons:

City taxes and cannabis taxes vary from city to city.
Some dispensaries choose to include these taxes in the listed price, with no additional tax at the register.  Other dispensaries choose to add all the taxes at checkout.  Still others divide the taxes between the listed price and checkout experience.

Why is there a warning label on the box?

Proposition 65 requires a warning label for more than 800 different naturally and chemically occurring compounds.  Although it is easy to understand why smoked and vaped cannabis is included on this list, all products with THC, including topicals and suppositories, are included in the mandate.  The concern for non-smoked THC is for fetal exposure through maternal use as studies on this topic are non-conclusive.  For more information:  https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/fact-sheets/thc
